Guidelines for Cabin Baggage 

According to the carry-on weight restrictions, the cabin luggage should not weigh more than 10 kilograms.

  1. If you fly First or Prestige class, you are allowed to bring two cabin bags, under the Korean Air carry-on baggage limit.
  2. Airlines allow you to bring two cabin baggage that weigh no more than 18 kilograms. However, you must book your ticket in the First or Prestige class.
  3. The cabin luggage size shall not exceed 115 cm (20*55*40) cm.
  4. If your luggage is large, you will need to store it overhead.
  5. If your luggage is not too large, you may place it in front of your seat.
  6. According to Korean Air international baggage allowance, you may also be eligible for cabin bag allowance, if you meet the requirements.  

What Should You Know About the Free Baggage Allowance for Standard Baggage?

As per the Korean Airlines baggage allowance policy, the airline provides you with more flexibility, when you travel with your infants or children. The airline will not charge you extra, if you carry items for your infant or child. 

Child:

Domestic / international: Carry luggage same as an adult eligibility + One foldable stroller, + One baggage + One car seat.

Infant:

  • Domestic Flight: One car seat and one foldable stroller.
  • International Flight: One foldable stroller, including one piece of luggage and one car seat.

Note: The baggage weight should not exceed 10 kg. 


What Is Korean Air Check-In Baggage Allowance?

If your luggage is too large and unable to fit in front of you or overhead bean, Korean Airlines will consider it as checked baggage. Let's look at the points below to know more about Korean Air check-in baggage allowance.

International Flights (Except the American/Brazil):

  • Economy Class: You may check one bag free of charge, but it must weigh less than 23 kilograms.

Does Korean Air Accept Musical Instruments on the Flight?

If you fly with Korean Airlines, you are allowed to bring musical instruments. However, carry-on musical instruments are subject to certain limitations and regulations.

  • Musical instruments should not be larger than 115 cm.
  • However, you can buy an extra seat for your sporting equipment.
  • The airline recommended that you pack your sporting equipment carefully because it is easily damaged.
  • According to Korean Air baggage rules, you may transport small musical items free of charge if they are small enough to fit comfortably in the overhead bins.
  • You may transport your musical instruments as checked baggage.
  • If your musical items weigh more than 32 kg, you will be charged extra.

Can I Carry the Sports Equipment Policy on Korean Air?

If you need to bring your sporting equipment on a flight, the good news is that you are allowed to do so under Korean Air luggage allowance. Sports goods have a maximum weight of 32 kg. The entire dimension of sports equipment should not exceed 292 cm. If you do not pack your belongings safely or in a protective case, the airline will not be liable for any damage. If the weight and size of your sports equipment exceed the baggage allowance, you will incur an excess baggage cost.
