Details you need to know to pack your bags and items before the trip are here in this article. Let's tie the seat belts and read on!

Copa Airlines imposes transparent prices for excess luggage and other levies, which are payable at the airport. On Copa Airlines, checked baggage is included with all fares (except Economy Basic), and two checked bags are allowed for all business class and Economy Full tickets.

Three pointers for checking baggage on Copa Airlines

1. Prepay for your bags at the Web Check-In.

Plan ahead 24 hours in advance to avoid wasting money or time at the airport. The baggage policy of Copa Airlines allows each customer to prepay for up to five pieces. Extra baggage fees are assessed on a segment-by-segment basis and can be paid for online check-in.

Infants travelling in an adult's arms are not eligible for the prepaid bags service because they do not contain checked luggage. Pieces with standard dimensions of 158 linear cm / 62 linear inches and standard weight of 23 kg / 50 pounds are eligible for the pre-paid baggage service. Anything that is overweight or enormous, or unusual luggage like bulky sports equipment or large musical instruments, is not covered by the prepaid baggage service.

2. Make sure to register the baggage on time

Register it up to four hours prior to the flight's departure. One reason for pre-checking your luggage is for it to be released from the airport upon arrival. Early check-in increases the likelihood that your luggage will be loaded aboard the aircraft first, increasing the likelihood that it will be among the first to be offloaded and placed on the baggage carousel upon arrival at your destination.

3. Discover your baggage

Include your entire name, address, and phone number to prevent it from being mistaken for someone else's. Another approach to make your luggage stand out is:

  • to pick a suitcase in a distinctive colour.
  • Invest in a luggage belt that is easily recognizable.
  • Use stickers to personalise your bag.
  • Purchase handle grips.
  • customised luggage tags.

Copa Airlines carry-on baggage policy

The Copa Airlines carry-on baggage policy allows for one piece of carry-on luggage and one personal item per passenger in the cabin. Every piece of carry-on luggage needs to fit beneath the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin. Note that during takeoff and landing, bulkhead seats lack underseat storage. It would be beneficial to you to avoid bulkhead seats if you want to use underseat storage.

  • A personal item may be brought by each passenger in addition to the permitted amount of carry-on luggage.
  • 1 personal item: 17” high x 10” long x 9” wide (43 cm high x 25 cm long x 22 cm wide)
